The Ghana Institute of Marine Surveyors - Welcome Aboard

The Ghana Institute of Marine Surveyors (GIMS), established in 1992, is a professional organization that brings together marine surveyors based in Ghana, certifies them and provides continuing education opportunities for them when required.

GIMS membership is made up of master mariners, chief engineers, ex- senior naval officers, radio and electrical/electronic officers. Its Certified Marine Surveyor members carry the GIMS designation after their names.

Our members who are either “Hull & Machinery Surveyors” and/or “Cargo Surveyors” conduct inspections, surveys or examinations of marine vessels around the West African region to assess, monitor and report on their condition and the products on them.
